Tower Lightning Arrester

Tower Lightning Arrester

We build a tower lightning arrester that feeds strike current into the earth grid. Each joint follows CECS 80 construction proportions.

The tower lightning arrester redirects strike current down a dedicated steel path to the grounding grid below. The body is a tapering lattice, wide at the foot for anchor bolts and narrow at the tip where the air terminal sits. Lap welds on every joint follow code proportions, so a welded leg never splits open under strike current. All exposed steel is hot-dip galvanized before packing.

Product Advantages

The four-leg GFL body resists buckling better than a single pole on exposed hilltops. Piece weights suit local crawler cranes, so overseas assembly stays simple and does not need a heavy lift. We tag every member with a piece number matching the erection drawing, so crews bolt in the right place the first time. A separate galvanized down-lead runs along the leg, so the strike path never relies on a bolted flange.

Main Applications

Common sites include oil pumping stations, gas bottling plants, coal handling yards and explosive workshops. On power corridors, the same tower lightning arrester form carries overhead ground wires that shield phase conductors from back-flashover.

FAQ

Q: How does a tower lightning arrester differ from a lightning rod on a building?

A: A building rod is short and fixed to the roof. Our tower is a free-standing steel mast, taller than the protected equipment, with its own grounding down-lead.

Q: What grounding is required?

A: You need a dedicated grounding grid tied to the tower base with galvanized flat steel. We specify the tap sizes; your local electrician pours the earth mat.

Q: Can you manufacture to a non-Chinese standard?

A: Yes. We design to GB 50057 by default, but we can adapt loads and member sizes to IEC 62305 or AS/NZS standards once your engineer signs off.
