Three Practical Checks Before Ordering A Telecom Lattice Structure

The tower height is only one line on a drawing, but it drives several other decisions. Before a Communication Tower is released for fabrication, the project team should confirm equipment weight, antenna elevation, platform needs, wind and ice conditions, cable routing, access, grounding, and foundation data.

First, check the load path: antennas, microwave equipment, cameras, or lighting create concentrated loads that need defined bracket positions. Second, check transport and erection: section length, bolt connections, lifting points, and site access affect how the steelwork reaches its final position. Third, check corrosion protection: hot-dip galvanizing is widely used for exposed steel, but damaged areas after installation still need repair.

Do not leave maintenance to the last page. Ladders, rest platforms, working platforms, feeder clamps, and inspection space determine whether technicians can work safely after commissioning. These items are easier to coordinate during structural design than to add later.

Hengshui Defang fabricates customized tower structures and provides installation support. For a Communication Tower, sending a complete equipment list and site conditions with the first inquiry gives the structural team a clearer basis for member sizing, connection design, platform arrangement, and foundation coordination.
