Preliminary Preparation

Before inspection, collect the inspection tower's design drawings, construction records, and historical maintenance data to clearly define the inspection objectives and key points. Also, inspect the site environment to ensure safe access for inspection equipment. Develop a detailed inspection plan, including personnel division, equipment configuration, and safety measures.

Appearance and Structural Inspection

First, conduct a visual inspection of the inspection tower to observe for corrosion, deformation, cracks, or weld defects. Focus on inspecting the tower base, connection points, and support structures to assess overall stability. If necessary, use drones or aerial work equipment to assist in inspecting hard-to-reach areas.

Material and Performance Testing

Non-destructive testing techniques (such as ultrasonic, magnetic particle, or radiographic testing) are used to assess the presence of hidden internal damage. Furthermore, perform hardness testing or metallographic analysis on key components to verify that the materials meet design standards. In addition, the tower's verticality and tilt must be measured to ensure its structure is stable.

Functional and Safety Assessment

The tower's ancillary equipment (such as ladders, platforms, and lighting systems) must be individually inspected for functional integrity. Regarding safety, the focus is on verifying compliance with regulations for lightning protection grounding, fire prevention measures, and emergency escape routes. For high-voltage or chemical test towers, their explosion-proof and corrosion-resistant properties must also be assessed.

Report and Recommendations

After the inspection is completed, data is summarized and a detailed report is generated, clearly identifying problem areas and risk levels. Based on the inspection results, recommendations for repair, reinforcement, or replacement are provided, and a subsequent regular inspection plan is established to ensure the long-term safe operation of the test tower.

A standardized inspection process not only extends the service life of the test tower but also effectively prevents safety incidents, providing a solid foundation for industrial production.
